District 1 Votes To Retain Girls Fall League Play!
On Monday night, April 28th, the WYS District 1 overturned an earlier vote to move GU-15 and above soccer to spring beginning this season. For the Fall 2008 District Select Soccer, league play will be in the fall as in previous years. District 1 stated that a recent survey of spring soccer teams showed that there was much interest in retaining the fall league even with High School soccer conflicts. Representatives went on to state that District 3 had also recently conducted a survey of it's membership and they had overwhelmingly voted to retain fall leagues over the spring league shift. Washington Youth Soccer (WYS) Premier Leagues and the Commissioner's Youth League (CYL) will continue to play in spring, so teams qualifying to play P-3 or WYSDL (P-4), or being accepted into the CYL will not play until spring 2009.
